Will I Need Lab Tests?

When and why doctors may request lab tests, and which tests are commonly required.

In some cases, your doctor may request lab tests to accompany your prescription. This is to ensure your safety and that the medication is appropriate for you.

When are lab tests required?

Lab test requirements are determined on a case-by-case basis by your doctor. Common reasons include:

  • Checking thyroid function before starting weight management medication

  • Evaluating kidney or liver function

  • Monitoring existing health conditions

  • Following up on previous results

What tests might be requested?

Depending on your treatment, your doctor may request:

  • Thyroid panel (TSH, T3, T4)

  • Basic metabolic panel

  • Other tests specific to your health history

How do I complete my lab tests?

  2. Request a digital copy of your results

  3. Provide your doctor the lab results during the next consultation

Note: Lab test costs are not included in your &you order. We accept results from any accredited laboratory.
