Planning a trip? Many of our patients travel with their medication without issues. Here's what you need to know before you go.
Before you travel
Every airline and country has different rules about traveling with injectable medications. We strongly recommend:
Check with your airline about their policies for carrying injectable medications and syringes in your carry-on luggage
Research your destination's customs regulations for bringing prescription medications into the country
Look up any transit countries if you have layovers, their rules may differ from your final destination
We cannot advise on international regulations, as these vary by country and can change. It's your responsibility to confirm the rules for your specific trip.
Bring your prescription
Always travel with a copy of your prescription. This helps explain to airline security and customs officials why you're carrying injectable medication.
You can download your prescription directly from your account page at https://www.andyou.ph/account.
Most patients are able to travel with their vial with an accompanying prescription but again, every country is different. Research your destination's specific medication rules before you travel.
Keep it cold
Your medication needs to stay refrigerated. When traveling:
Always store your medication in the insulated case with ice packs to maintain the correct temperature during your trip
Plan ahead for how you'll refrigerate your medication at your destination (hotel fridge, portable cooler, etc.)
Quick checklist
☐ Checked airline policy for injectable medications
☐ Researched destination country's customs regulations
☐ Downloaded prescription from account page
☐ Packed medication in insulated case with ice packs
☐ Confirmed refrigeration options at destination
