What If I Miss a Dose?

Guidelines for missed doses: when to take it late vs. skip it, and how to get back on schedule.

Missing a dose happens. Here's what to do if you forget to take your medication.

If you missed your injection

If its been less than 48 hrs (2 days): Take your dose as soon as you remember. And take the next dose as previously scheduled.
If it’s been 3 days or more: Take as soon as you remember it and shift your next dosage on the same day next week.

Important: Never double up

Do not take two doses at once to make up for a missed dose. This can increase side effects without providing additional benefit.

Getting back on schedule

  • After a missed dose, continue your regular weekly schedule. If you took a late dose, you can either:

    • Continue from the new day (making that your new injection day), or

    • Return to your original schedule the following week

Tips to avoid missing doses

  • Set a weekly reminder on your phone

  • Pick a consistent day and time each week

  • Keep a medication log to track your injections

  • Store your medication somewhere visible (in the fridge, but where you'll see it)

Missed multiple doses?

If you've missed several weeks, message your medical team before resuming. They may recommend restarting at a lower dose.
