What Is a Serious Adverse Reaction?

Warning signs that require immediate emergency care and how to report serious reactions to us.

While rare, serious adverse reactions require immediate medical attention.

Seek emergency care immediately if you experience

  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing

  • Severe swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat

  • Severe, persistent abdominal pain (may indicate pancreatitis)

  • Severe vomiting that won't stop

  • Signs of severe allergic reaction: hives spreading across your body, dizziness, rapid heartbeat

  • Chest pain or pressure

  • Fainting or loss of consciousness

  • Signs of severe low blood sugar: shakiness, confusion, sweating, seizures

  • Vision changes

  • Thoughts of self-harm

What to do

  • Call 911 or have someone take you to the nearest emergency room immediately

  • Tell medical staff what medication you're taking and the dose

  • Do not wait to see if symptoms improve

After receiving emergency care

  • What symptoms you experienced

  • When they started

  • What treatment you received
