What Should I Do If I Experience Side Effects?

When to wait it out, when to message your doctor, and when to seek emergency care.

Some side effects are normal when starting medication. Here's how to know what to do.

Common side effects (wait and monitor)

These typically improve within 2-4 weeks:

  • Nausea

  • Diarrhea or constipation

  • Stomach discomfort

  • Fatigue

  • Headache

  • Mild injection site reactions

  • Stay hydrated, eat small meals, and give your body time to adjust.

Contact your doctor (non-urgent) if

  • Side effects don't improve after 2-3 weeks

  • Symptoms interfere with your daily life

  • You have new symptoms you're unsure about

  • You're considering stopping treatment

Message your medical team through email or socials. Alternatively, book a consultation through your account page.

SEEK EMERGENCY CARE IMMEDIATELY if you experience

  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing

  • Severe swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat

  • Severe abdominal pain that doesn't go away

  • Severe allergic reaction (hives all over, dizziness, rapid heartbeat)

  • Chest pain

  • Fainting or loss of consciousness

Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. Do not wait.
